Random geek thought

I think the reason computer geeks sometimes prefer fantasy to reality is that fantasy is open-source.

And if you get that, you're either a geek or you've been reading too much of T&S.

I tried but I do not know what you are talking about except it is a software? concept????

I love fantasy though...does that count?

Open-source refers to software that is developed or developable by the community, so you can see how it works and modify or improve it yourself (if you know how) rather than relying on the developer to make all changes and improvements. Google tends towards open-source, Apple is quite the opposite. Fantasy is open source in that you can change it however you want. Reality is close source (to an extent) because there are certain rules that you just can't rewrite or alter (rules like age and calories).
